Website summary – property-specific rental agreement controls

Rental Policy and Guest Terms

This page summarizes common reservation and stay requirements. The signed rental agreement, booking confirmation, property listing and any property-specific addenda control the reservation.

Reservations and Guest Responsibility

The renter of record must be at least 25 years of age and provide accurate guest and payment information.

Only registered guests may occupy the home, and occupancy may not exceed the published maximum.

The renter of record is responsible for guests, visitors, property access credentials and compliance with community and resort rules.

Payment, Cancellation and Travel Insurance

Guests receive a 100% refund when cancellation is made at least 60 days before arrival. Other deposit, balance-due, cancellation and refund terms are shown during booking and in the reservation confirmation. Because unexpected events may interrupt travel, guests are strongly encouraged to obtain appropriate travel insurance. Storybook is not an insurer and cannot guarantee coverage or reimbursement.

Check-In, Check-Out and Access

Standard check-in and check-out times are stated in the booking confirmation. Early arrival or late departure requires written approval. Guests must protect door codes, keys and access credentials and may be charged reasonable replacement, locksmith or security costs caused by loss or misuse.

Use, Conduct and Inspection

Homes may be used only for lawful residential vacation purposes.

Parties, events or unregistered gatherings are prohibited unless expressly approved in writing.

Quiet hours, parking restrictions and community or resort rules must be observed.

Storybook or an authorized provider may enter when reasonably necessary for emergency response, maintenance, safety, property protection or enforcement of the rental agreement, consistent with applicable law.

Pools, Spas and Outdoor Areas

Pool heat, when available, is $40 per day plus applicable tax and is suggested from October through May. Spa-only heat, when available, is $25 per day plus applicable tax. Heating must be requested and paid for under the property-specific terms. Performance depends on equipment, weather and outside temperature; heat pumps may shut down or perform less effectively in cold weather. Guests must not adjust pool equipment, valves, timers or controls. Children and non-swimmers require continuous adult supervision around water.

Condition, Maintenance and Damage

Guests should report concerns promptly so Storybook can respond. Homes, appliances, internet service, resort amenities and mechanical systems may occasionally require repair. Except where required by law or expressly stated in the rental agreement, temporary interruption does not automatically create a right to a refund. For direct bookings only, a nonrefundable damage-waiver fee protects guests for up to $500 in accidental damage; the fee varies by property. Guests remain responsible for damage outside the waiver’s terms, damage above the coverage limit, extraordinary cleaning and rule violations caused by their party.

Smoking, Pets and Safety

Smoking or vaping inside is prohibited. Pet acceptance is established for each listing with the property owner’s approval; pets are permitted only when the listing and written reservation terms expressly allow them. Guests must follow posted safety notices and immediately report hazards, emergencies or security concerns.

Taxes and Fees

Applicable taxes and fees are displayed during booking and may vary by property location, platform and law. Storybook collects or facilitates collection of required amounts as described in the booking transaction; third-party platforms may collect and remit some taxes directly.
