Every Storybook villa has its own private pool (several with movie screens above the water), so a water park here has to earn the drive. In 2026, four do, and two calendar quirks matter more than any slide review.
The 2026 lineup
Island H2O Water Park, Kissimmee (the local one)
Ten-ish minutes from ChampionsGate at Sunset Walk by Margaritaville, the closest real water park to the villa corridor. Social-media-themed slides, a solid wave pool and lazy river, and sane prices: advance tickets ~$59.99 adult / $49.99 for under-48″ and seniors, season passes from $55.99 with parking included. Open March 6 – Oct 31, 2026 (daily in summer, weekends in fall).
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
The shipwrecked-surf-resort classic with one of the world’s great wave pools. Open through Sept 8, 2026, then it hands the baton to Blizzard Beach and closes for refurbishment. H2O Glow after-hours parties run select summer nights. Water-park tickets are $74 adult / $68 child and work at whichever Disney water park is open.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach
A melted ski resort in the Florida sun, home of Summit Plummet, the 12-story near-vertical drop your teenagers will negotiate about. Open all summer alongside Typhoon Lagoon, and the open Disney water park after Sept 9.
Universal’s Volcano Bay
The most beautiful water park in Florida, full stop: the Krakatau volcano, the TapuTapu virtual-line wearable, and the infamous Ko’okiri 70-degree drop. Roughly $80–$110 by date. The 2026 catch: it closes Oct 26, 2026 through Mar 24, 2027 for one of the longest refurbishments in its history, so don’t promise the kids Volcano Bay on a Thanksgiving trip.
Worth knowing
- LEGOLAND Water Park (Winter Haven, ~35–40 min) is a +$30 add-on to LEGOLAND admission, and the build-your-own-LEGO-raft lazy river is genuinely charming for the under-12 crowd.
- Peppa Pig Theme Park next door now includes same-day SEA LIFE aquarium entry with kids’ tickets from $29 with a paying adult, the toddler-day double-header.
- Timing trick: water parks empty out after 4pm even in July. Half-day afternoon entry + villa pool morning is the veteran move.
- Zero-drive option: your villa’s screened pool, 85° and empty, with the spa for the grown-ups. Several villas add poolside movie screens, and movie night in the pool is a Storybook signature.
