Epic Universe, one year in

Quick answer Epic Universe, Universal’s fourth Orlando park and open since May 2025, is five worlds deep: Celestial Park, the Wizarding World’s Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, Isle of Berk and Dark Universe. What changed in 2026: 3-, 4- and 5-day park-to-park tickets now include Epic every day. A standalone Epic day runs $139–$199. New for summer 2026: the nightly Celestial Goodnight lagoon show. From the villas: ~30 minutes up I-4.

One year in, Epic Universe has settled from “impossible ticket” into something better: a genuinely great two-day park you can now fold into a normal Universal trip. Here’s the villa guest’s version of the plan.

The five worlds, honestly ranked for families

  • Super Nintendo World. The one the kids will sprint to: Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge (AR visors), the Mine-Cart Madness boom coaster and Yoshi’s Adventure, inside a living Mushroom Kingdom. Power-Up Bands make the whole land a game.
  • The Wizarding World’s Ministry of Magic. 1920s wizarding Paris hiding Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, the park’s most in-demand ride and one of the best dark rides anywhere. Get it done at open or brace for the wait.
  • Isle of Berk. How to Train Your Dragon’s island, all wooden ramps and dragons overhead: Hiccup’s Wing Gliders launch coaster, Dragon Racer’s Rally, and a Toothless encounter that melts small children.
  • Dark Universe. The monsters get their due: Monsters Unchained’s robotic-arm dark ride is intense and brilliant; Curse of the Werewolf spins the mid-tier crowd. Teen heaven, note the height cuts for littles.
  • Celestial Park. The hub-that’s-secretly-a-world: gardens, fountains, the excellent dual-launch Stardust Racers, and since July 7, 2026, the nightly Universal Celestial Goodnight close show: seven million LEDs, 350 fountains and fireworks over the lagoon. Stay for it.

Tickets in 2026: the change that matters

  • Multi-day park-to-park now includes Epic. 3-, 4- and 5-day park-to-park tickets give you every park, every day: Studios, Islands and Epic, hop freely. Five-day tickets work out to roughly $93/day.
  • Single Epic days are date-priced at $139–$199 (and 2026 pricing actually came down from 2025).
  • Watch the fine print: the cheaper 3-day BASE ticket (one park per day) does not include Epic, and standard annual passes still don’t either.
  • Current promo: Universal’s buy-3-get-2-free days offer runs for visits through Dec 16, 2026, five park days for three days’ price.
  • Express Pass at Epic is single-use per ride, ~$150–$360 by date, with no unlimited tier, or grab the in-park Express Pass Now (~$20–$30) for the one line that’s ruining your afternoon.

The villa game plan

  • Drive: ~30 minutes from ChampionsGate up I-4 to the Epic exit, against most of the morning traffic.
  • Order of operations: at rope drop, hit Battle at the Ministry first, Nintendo second, dragons after lunch, monsters when the littles fade, Stardust Racers at dusk, Celestial Goodnight to close.
  • Two-day move: with Epic on every day of a park-to-park ticket, split it: one Epic day for the headliners, one Studios/Islands day, then a villa pool day in between. That’s the rhythm hotel guests can’t do.
  • Fall heads-up: Halloween Horror Nights (Aug 28 – Nov 1) runs at the Studios, not Epic, and Volcano Bay closes Oct 26 for refurb. Details in Universal news.

Good questions, honest answers

Is Epic Universe included in Universal tickets for 2026?
Yes. The big 2026 change: 3-, 4- and 5-day park-to-park tickets include Epic Universe every day of the ticket, with unlimited same-day hopping. Single-day Epic admission ($139–$199 by date) remains for short trips; 3-day base tickets and standard annual passes do not include Epic.
How far is Epic Universe from ChampionsGate?
About 30 minutes by car up I-4, and you’re driving opposite the heaviest morning flow. Parking is on-site; leave the villa about an hour before park open on peak days.
What's the best ride at Epic Universe?
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry is the consensus headliner, so do it first or last. Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and Stardust Racers round out the big three, and the nightly Celestial Goodnight show (new July 2026) is worth staying to close.
Is one day enough for Epic Universe?
You can do the five headliners in one well-planned day, but two relaxed days (now easy with Epic on multi-day tickets) beats one death march, especially with kids under 10.
