Park guide · Beyond the big two

SeaWorld, LEGOLAND & the rest of the kingdom

Quick answer SeaWorld’s Expedition Odyssey flying theater got an all-new Fire & Ice mission in May 2026 and remains the park’s must-do; the announced SEAQuest dark ride is mid-redesign with no confirmed opening, so don’t plan around it. LEGOLAND landed its biggest investment ever with the Galacticoaster (Feb 2026), and Peppa Pig tickets now include the SEA LIFE aquarium. Fall = Howl-O-Scream (Sept 11 – Oct 31, from $34.99).

Disney and Universal get the headlines, but the villa corridor’s supporting cast is having a real 2026. Here’s what’s worth a day, and what to skip claims about.

SeaWorld Orlando

  • Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice (new May 2026). The dual flying theaters that opened in 2025 now alternate an Arctic mission with a volcanic one, using real filmed footage, no CGI shortcuts, and you exit past the live beluga habitat. 39″ height makes it a true family headliner.
  • The coaster gauntlet. Mako, Manta, Ice Breaker, Pipeline and Penguin Trek make SeaWorld the corridor’s best pure coaster day for teens.
  • SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep, the announced Vekoma suspended dark ride, went back for a mid-construction redesign in April 2026 with no revised opening date. If a site promises it “this year,” they’re guessing.
  • Howl-O-Scream (separate ticket) runs Sept 11 – Oct 31, 2026: five houses, six scare zones, from $34.99 early-sale. It’s genuinely scary: teens yes, littles no.

LEGOLAND Florida & Peppa Pig

  • Galacticoaster (opened Feb 27, 2026) is LEGOLAND’s first new coaster in 15 years and its biggest-ever investment: an indoor launch coaster where kids customize their spacecraft by RFID (625 combinations). Built for the 6–12 set.
  • LEGO Festival with a LEGO Pokémon play zone runs July 20 – Aug 16, 2026, a first look before the sets hit stores in August. A bigger Brick-or-Treat follows in fall.
  • Peppa Pig Theme Park, the world’s first standalone Peppa park and engineered for ages 2–6, now bundles free same-day SEA LIFE aquarium entry; kids’ tickets from $29 with a full-price adult.
  • Drive math: both sit in Winter Haven, ~35–40 minutes down US-27/I-4 W from ChampionsGate, an easy toddler day with a nap-timed return.

The corridor’s wildcard: Fun Spot

Fun Spot’s Kissimmee park (off 192 by Old Town) stays the late-night pressure valve: multi-level go-karts, the Mine Blower woodie, $59.95 unlimited-ride passes, and free parking/entry if you’re only chaperoning. New flat rides are rolling out across its parks through 2026.

How locals stack a “second-tier” day

Pick one anchor (SeaWorld coasters or LEGOLAND), keep the afternoon loose, and end at the villa pool by 5. These parks run shorter hours than Disney, which is exactly why they make the relaxed days of a two-week trip. Pair with a proper Villa Day and the trip stops feeling like a forced march.

Good questions, honest answers

What's new at SeaWorld Orlando in 2026?
Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice, an all-new volcanic mission added to the flying theater in May 2026. The announced SEAQuest dark ride is being redesigned mid-construction with no confirmed opening date.
Is LEGOLAND worth it from the Disney area?
For kids roughly 2–12, absolutely. It’s ~35–40 minutes from ChampionsGate, and 2026 added the Galacticoaster, the park’s first new coaster in 15 years. Teens will prefer SeaWorld’s coaster lineup.
When is Howl-O-Scream 2026?
Select nights Sept 11 – Oct 31, 2026 at SeaWorld Orlando, from $34.99 on early-sale nights. It’s a separate after-dark ticket and aimed at teens and adults, not young kids.
